DESCRIPTION
Gaggia Brera is a compact super-automatic coffee machine with integrated grinding functionality and easy foaming thanks to the convenient integrated steam wand (Gaggia Panarello), specially designed to froth milk and enhance the barista skills of each user. Gaggia Brera is made with stainless steel finishes that make it suitable for classic and modern environments. There are two models available: Gaggia Brera Silver and Gaggia Brera Black. Gaggia Brera is a machine produced and distributed by the famous Italian company Gaggia Milano that stands out for the quality and technology of its products also in the professional segment. Gaggia Brera is equipped with a ceramic coffee grinder available with five adjustments to adapt to the different types of coffee you want to prepare. Gaggia Brera is also equipped with an integrated bypass that allows the preparation of already ground coffee.
Gaggia Brera main features
Gaggia Brera is an easy and reliable coffee machine that allows you to enjoy an excellent espresso with a few simple steps. Gaggia Brera also has a descaling alert system and allows the rapid disassembly of the brew group to perform simple cleaning operations. Gaggia Brera allows the preparation of an espresso and coffee using two simple buttons and through the easily navigable LED display. Both drinks can be customized in terms of flavor intensity and length. To dispense two drinks at a time, simply click twice on the button.
Gaggia Brera is equipped with a steam wand (Panarello) that allows you to froth the milk in an optimal way and thus obtain delicious cappuccinos. The steam wand, with Rapid Steam technology, can also be used for the preparation of hot drinks. Gaggia Brera is also equipped with an Optiaroma functionality that offers you the possibility to customize and program the intensity of the aroma on three levels: light, medium and strong. The programming of the drinks can be carried out simply by holding the corresponding button for a few seconds. Gaggia Brera is equipped with a coffee grinder with ceramic grinders to guarantee the consistency of the grind and reduce the overheating of the coffee beans, obtaining a tasty and aromatic coffee. The ceramic ensures long-lasting performance and an optimal result in terms of the quality of the drink. The coffee grinding function allows five levels of adjustment from the finest levels, ideal for a coffee with a strong taste, at coarser levels for lighter coffees.
Gaggia Brera allows the easy disassembly of the coffee dispensing unit which in a few seconds can be extracted, rinsed under running water and reinserted into the appropriate container. In this way the machine can be regularly cleaned. Gaggia Brera also presents an automatic descaling alert that warns the user of the need to activate the descaling cycle.

Arrived promptly. Good looking machine, only minus point was the fitting of a euro style plug. Removed this and replaced with UK. Filled the machine with Expresso Classico fom Macbeans. Filled with filtered water and was ready to go. The manual suggests that it will take 5 coffee’s for the machine to adapt to the coffee and grind setting, and I would say this is spot on. Shots 1 and 2 a little weak, No3 passable and number 4 was just about perfect. Milk frothing / heating had been a worry but not so. Frothed milk easily and that was using skimmed milk. Overall very pleased with the Brera.

This machine replaces a Gaggia exclusive which I have had for 15 years which has served me very well. So the new machine has a lot to fulfill. So far after 1 week of usage I am not disappointed as the new machine has some advanced features over its predecessor. The only niggle I have is the frothier is set quite high so you need to hold the cup up to it to reach the milk and the water reservoir is smaller but I suppose this is to do with keeping the size of the overall machine down to a compact size.

Bought from Cafe Italia for the best price I could find, arrived quickly and safely, well packed. Makes a good coffee with a range of variability. Runs cleanly with very little mess. The only downside is the size of the water tank so I can only make two big cups and a litre of hot milk per fill. Good company to deal with.

I bought this in order to stop using plastic coffee pods. It’s great with beans, bit fiddly to get the hang of using ground coffee (when in the startup cycle to add the coffee) and cleaning it is a bit of a faff – but overall, it does exactly what I bought it for.

My Gaggia Brera arrived within 4 days of placing my order. It was dispatched from Italy and promptly delivered by FedEx. Following the initial setup, I prepared my first espresso using the factory default settings – I was very surprised by how quiet the machine is, and how much flavour it extracted. I’m very impressed. Way better than my old DeLonghi Magnifica. It is beautifully made of very high quality materials, and feels very solid. I was thinking of buying a Melitta or a Jura bean-to-cup, and I’m very glad I bought this instead. And contrary to numerous online reports, the coffee actually comes out perfectly hot – definitely hotter than from my DeLonghi Magnifica, at highest temperature setting. BTW, according to the warranty booklet, Caffe Italia is the official importer to UK, and they provide the warranty.
Coffee cup –
This is the second Gaggia Brera I’ve had….the first one lasted 15 years! I love this little machine. So clean and easy to use, makes great coffee every time, I wouldn’t be without it, nor would I even look at another brand or model. I highly recommend this machine.
Shells –
We’ve had this machine about 6months or so and whilst the coffee it brews is great – rich, good crema, smooth and we enjoy the various options it brings, it also appears poorly constructed. It’s broken down several times – fortunately my son has been able to fix it each time. It makes a real racket sometimes as it’s brewing – grinding and whirring at high pitch levels – if one of us is still in bed and another is up making coffee, the one in bed is awoken by it! Hey ho, it was on offer at a good price. And I really like the ease of use and quality of brew but these noisy niggles would prob stop me buying another. (I’m currently looking for another machine for my workplace too ).

Very happy with my new gaggia, it’s not just as big as my previous one and needs refilling more frequently because of that. It also the uses water to self clean itself, which is a great extra to have so I’d prefer a bigger water tank or direct water source to the tank without needing to refill, but they’re only small complaints and it’s such a great machine. If it was perfect I’m sure I’d find something to moan about.

Ordered this machine on 8th June, as website said it was in stock. Website also said that it was being despatched in the UK, with a UK plug. Both facts were incorrect. The machine finally arrived on 17th June from Italy and had a European plug only. When I called the UK agent (Caffe Italia), the man wouldn’t listen to me and just kept talking over me. He then hung up. I immediately called back and he told me to email them and then hung up again. Eventually, after I calmed down from the unbelievably rude customer service, I emailed and received a link to buy a UK cord and plug through Amazon. The man also emailed saying that he would refund me £10 for the inconvenience. I’ve yet to see if this happens. Once I received the plug today (from Amazon), the machine was tried and tested. It made wonderful coffee (even with the beans supplied with the machine). The grind noise is not excessive and the brew noise and time is about the same as a Nespresso machine. Nice hot coffee and full of flavour. Great buy, spoiled only by the shopping experience. I’m not sure whether I would recommend this seller. However, I’d certainly recommend the Gaggia Brera coffee machine. Also, if you’re in London, remember to buy a water filter. One is not supplied with the machine. The rating I’ve given is for the machine, not including the sales.
don’t have one –
Water tank is not large enough. coffee needs to be hotter, I have to microwave it for 20 seconds to get it to a temperature that I like. PS Not everyone has a nickname, we are not children.

Delivery took 11days – Fed ex tracking poor with limited information, and no time slot delivery. Machine is easy to use coffee is hot and steam wand good. Only downside I can see is the grind options ( only 5 ) and also got to double shot to get a nice strong cup. Would still recommend.

My Husband is delighted with his new coffee machine! Unfortunately we didn’t receive the free gift coffee beans which was disappointing. Have contacted Caffe Italia but was informed that i’d purchased the machine before the free gift offer. Despite this, we are happy with the machine and it arrived safely from Italy.

No complaints working as expected, quality (of drink) every bit as good as my gaggia classic, one little niggle reservoir on the small side but ease of filling compensates.
